After the great concert at Mainz we were happy to hear that Wallis Bird would play at Cologne (Köln), which is very near from where we are living. Wow, a concert without hours of driving there and back. Thanks, Wallis! We hope that you will play more gigs in the Cologne/Bonn area.
Again I had only my small compact digital camera with me (Ricoh Caplio R5), because I worried about being rejected at the entrance with »professional« equipment. But these worries were not necessary. It would not have been a problem to make ›proper‹ pictures with a better camera. Instead you have to watch my blurred and noisy out-of-focus-pictures. But I tried to improve them as good as I can with PhotoImpact...
Christian Vinne playing his drums in an almost dark area of the stage. My place was directly in front of Wallis microphone and so I could look from about 2 meters distance directly in her shining eyes. :-) And I also had a good view on the other musicians.
Michael Vinne playing the bass. Here you see his chiefess coming along to have a view if he is working hard enough. :-)
And the following pictures show Aoife O'Sullivan. For some songs she plays viola, for others she is background singer. Today she had no time for her other job as band photographer.
After the gig Ilo asked Wallis to get signed her famous Wallis Bird shirt. Wallis had seen a picture of it already on the internet, but she was really impressed seeing it original. Unfortunately the camera ›deadflashed‹ the pictures completely.
Although the band hat to travel the night long to get to Hamburg for the next concert, Wallis and Aoife took a lot of time for the fans. Several fan pictures with Wallis or Aoife were taken. So the Cologne concert will remain in our thoughts as a great gig.
